Lemon Garlic & Basil Compound Butter Recipe
Thinking how can I elevate my dinner? Everyone has butter or margarine in the fridge and spices in the pantry. Whip up a flavorful little roll of yumminess, which can be stored in the freezer and used for weeks to come! These can be made with vegan margarine and will add such a rich flavor to any vegan dish.
Compound butters add flavor and panache to so many of your favorite dishes! Green beans, broccoli and baked potatoes can now be a little fancy or top off any grilled meat or fish with a little slice of heaven just before serving. The joy in watching all these flavors melt, was mouthwatering!!
A simple yet decadent addition to your meal that's a treat for your palate! The kids can have a great time making their own little flavor combos to top their plain pasta and bread and you might even be able to sneak in an extra few bites of those veggies!

The flavor combinations are endless. Be adventurous and try out different combinations!
8 tbsp. margarine, butter or vegan margarine (room temperature)
juice from half lemon
grated zest of 1 lemon
2-3 clove of minced garlic or roast the garlic for even more flavor!
3 tbsp. chopped basil
1/2 tsp salt
In a bowl, add the butter/margarine, lemon juice, zest, minced garlic, salt & chopped basil. Mix all together. Layout plastic wrap and pour onto wrap. Roll tightly & pop in the freezer.
Pop in the fridge or freezer for about 4 hours and slice off as needed.
